INTRODUCTION
The Planet 120’ Hard Top, 36.25 mts. fibreglass mega-yacht is the latest creation by the Versilcraft Shipyard.
The first unit “CHOO CHOO”, was presented for the first time during the Cannes Festival De La Plaisance and the 46° Genoa International Boat Show and meet with great success as well as a widespread approval from everyone involved within the nautical world.
Another three units are under construction, the first of which will be delivered during the middle of 2007.
These models present totally new concepts, both for the interiors and exteriors design, as well as for technological innovations carefully studied by the shipyard.
From a design point of view the hard top is an absolute novelty, a versatile volume of about 30m² which represents a pleasurable increase of the already ample liveable space. The wide windows allow a 360° visibility of the surrounding sea and together with a large skylight, they both create a relaxing “open space” area that the Owner can either turn into a private study, a panoramic lounge, a dining room or into any other use suitable for his needs.
“CHOO CHOO”s Owner opted for a salon area with white sofas and a large sun bathing area behind the well equipped wheelhouse.
The concept “open space” has been carried through to the main deck, where there is an area of more than 80m², as well as a bar area and a dining room area where one does not encounter any architectural barriers, thus creating a “perspective” with a definite impact.
Both the shipyard’s artisans and the Architects of Studio Neri, collaborated in order to provide the client with their professionalism and skilled competence, giving life to a perfectly balanced vessel, whose contemporary and modern style melt together in perfect harmony with its comfort and elegance.
As all the vessels built by New Versilcraft, and the PLANET 120 H.T. Long Range is entirely built by the Shipyard and is customised based on the owner’s requests.
The Shipyard’s “Custom Made” creations are mixed with pieces of high design pieces of furniture, innovative colours and materials, wide open spaces and “clean” and essential lines of the interiors all come together creating an elegant and refined minimalist ambience.
From a purely building point of view, particular attention has been given to the sound proofing, thanks to a detailed study by the Shipyard’s technical Department and has in fact created a modern method of sound proofing that guarantees the owner and his guest’s maximum comfort during navigation.
A sophisticated night vision system NIGHT NAVIGATOR 5024 produced by the company Current Corporation has been installed on the Planet 120’ Hard top in order to increase the visibility during navigation.
The Planet 120’ Hard Top is an absolute novelty, thanks to the shipyards inedited system “LONG RANGE”. The vessel is equipped with N° 3 Caterpillar C32 each 1825 Hp., that guarantees a maximum speed of 26 knots and a cruising speed of 22 knots; otherwise one can navigate around the clock with only the middle engine, maintaining a cruising speed of roughly 13 knots, thus prolonging its autonomy from 900 M/n to 1400 M/n.
The Planet 120’ Hard Top can therefore be considered a “V” hull that is capable of reaching remarkable cruising and maximum speed as well as the assuming characteristics of a displacement hull.
The vessel has been built in conformity with Rina’s Rules and Regulations and has successively passed all stability and performance tests of the Vienna Model basin.
